NYC Ice Cream

Well. Ice Cream Season is over I heard. Which means Ice Cream Season with a sweater on is now in full session. I, for one, don’t really care about the weather when it comes to ice cream or gelato, so I’m gonna keep going. Here are some examples of my favorite icy treats this summer, trust me, they all were delicious. Go get some.

Anita La Mama

Anita La Mama del Gelato has several locations here in New York City, I visited the Flatiron location. This gelato is over 22 years in the making, and the product is masterful. Besides being crafted from the finest ingredients, the flavors are different than anywhere else (of course besides the classics). I found a Macadamia gelato, and I was sold. Absolutely exceptional.

Glace

Glace has two locations here in the city, one being on the Upper Westside, and the one I visited, right in Rockefeller Plaza. The Brown Butter Soft Serve is very popular, but the Frozen Hot Chocolate had me at hello, and one awfully stained t shirt later, I am in love! Frozen Hot Chocolate sounds like an oxymoron, but that’s exactly what it is, crowned by a ring of toasted marshmallow. Fancyyyyyy and so good.

Gelateria Gentile

You know it’s gonna be good with a name like that, so I was definitely gonna try. Thank God I did, I’m hopelessly in love. Coming straight from South Italy to NYC, Gelateria Gentile, which has several locations in the city, uses natural ingredients, imported from Italy. The best part is that while you get it in a delicious cone, you will get a tiny little cone on top. I don’t know about you, but that’s immediately a no brainer for me.

Soft Swerve

This awesome soft serve place also has several locations. I love the name Soft Swerve! It’s so fun. This an Asian spot with so many unique flavors, It’s (almost) impossible to pick one. But then I saw Black Sesame, and how can you not? Absolutely scrumptious.

Sugar Hill Creamery

Sugar Hill Creamery can be found in two different locations in Harlem, so get on the subway, and have one of their uniquely flavored ice creams. Besides their regular menu, they always have a seasonal menu, and fall has just started! My choice was the Banana Pudding ice cream, I dare you to find that flavor anywhere else. So, so good.

Aurelia

Last, but not least, there is Aurelia, a very small Asian gelato and sorbet counter in the Times Square area. Here you will find plenty of one-of-a-kind flavors. I love that I’m not limited to our traditional flavors, and this place delivers on taste! I had Black Milk Tea and Japanese White Chocolate. Heavenly.
