#DOTW: Blue Bird

It’s been almost a year since my visit home to Germany. I do think about it often, and I’m hoping to return soon. It was so good to see my childhood home, and even better to reconnect with friends from long days past. Thank God for social media, which had me find people I thought I would never see again. But of course as a foodie and eternal bartender, I was excited to try everything consumable in sight. One of my favorite cocktails was the Bluebird, whose ingredients were very interesting. They didn’t seem to go well together, but obviously I had to try anyway. It was fantastic. I am making sure that here in NYC it has its own little world premiere!

What you’ll need:

Heat 1/2 cup of water in small sauce pan, add two tea bags of Blueberry tea into the boiling water. Let it brew for 5 minutes or longer. Let it cool to room temperature. Once the tea cooled down, fill a cocktail shaker with ice and all ingredients. Shake well. The longer you shake, the fluffier the egg white is going to make the top of the cocktail. Strain into a coupe glass. Spoon out egg whites left in the shaker, and top off the cocktail with it.

Cheers!
