I just love this cocktail. It’s fresh and fruity, yet not too summery, just what the doctor ordered for a November evening. Originally this drink was designed to be concocted with aged rum, but I was in the mood for something lighter, and I ended up using white Bacardi. It is absolutely delicious, so if you choose to follow suit, you won’t be disappointed.
Cheers!
What you’ll need:
- 2 oz Bacardi or aged rum of your choice
- 1 1/2 oz fresh grapefruit juice
- 3/4 oz cranberry or hibiscus syrup
- 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
The correct way to make this cocktail is to combine all ingredients in a Martini shaker with ice, shake well, pour into a Martini glass, and enjoy. I went a different route! I combined the rum, grapefruit juice and bitters in a cocktail shaker with ice, shook it well, and strained it into a Martini glass. I then added the syrup to it slowly, which gives it layered look that is just beautiful! However you choose to assemble your drink, do garnish it with a grapefruit twist and enjoy!
