Jambalaya

Nope, I’m not ready to give in to fall quite yet. It’s still summer in my liquor cabinet. Strawberries, I haven’t utilized strawberries yet. I love a fresh strawberry lemonade, so it seems like a natural progression to add some good old whiskey. This takes a little extra preparation, you’ll have to make your own strawberry syrup, but it’s easy as pie. Enjoy!

Cheers!

What you’ll need:

Strawberry syrup:

  • 1 cup sliced strawberries
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water

drink assembly:

  • 2 oz Glenfiddich (or quality whiskey of you choice)
  • 1 oz lemon sour mix
  • 1 oz strawberry syrup

Combine the strawberries, sugar and water in a small pot. Bring to a boil, and then simmer for 15 minutes. Let it cool for a while, then either strain it, or put it in a blender.

Combine ingredients and decorate with strawberries.
