What To Eat at Citi Field

Are you a Mets fan? Or just a baseball fan? Well, you don’t have to be either to enjoy a fun day at Citi Field. The home of the New York Mets in Flushing, Queens, is absolutely beautiful, it’s fun, and it makes for a great summer evening or Sunday afternoon outing. If you find yourself reading this blog, you are more than likely a foodie, and you need to know that at this stadium, you are absolutely not limited to hot dogs and chicken fingers. Citi Field is known to have some of the best food in the stadiums across the country, so please find my guide of five of the best things to eat here below. Trust me, it is so worth the visit!

Kwame’s Patty Palace

Kwame’s Patty Palace has been brought to you by Kwame Onwuachi, a former Bravo Top Chef contestant and restauranteur extraordinaire. His restaurant Tatiana has been rated best restaurant in NYC, and at this point it is very hard to get a reservation. So why not get a taste of his amazing food while watching a ball game? His Curried Chicken Patties are served on a bun of coco bread, topped with some delicious sauces and a cabbage slaw. Amazing. Find them at the Clover Club Market.

Fuku

Fuku is a part of Momofuku by the amazing chef and entrepreneur David Chang. This man is golden, everything he opens has the best food. Fuku is the branch that brings his fried chicken to you, and at Citi Field it is a spicy chicken sandwich with pickles. Sounds simple, but it is oh so good. Find it at the Home Plate Market in section 119, or the Milagro Tequila Porch in section 336.

Prince Street Pizza

Who hasn’t heard of Prince Street Pizza by now? It’s really good. The lines at their original location are always long, but it’s always worth it. Have a square slice with spicy pepperoni in section 102, and some additional locations.

Pig Beach BBQ

Pig Beach BBQ is a popular restaurant in Queens, and their BBQ is so yummy, and quite popular. They have a few locations all over the US, but why worry about that, when you can just try it at a ball game? I tried their Pulled Pork Sandwich, which was so, so delicious (even though I personally thought it needed a bit more pork). Also try their Mac N Cheese! Find them in section 135 or at the Clover Home Plate Club.

Premio Sausage & Peppers

Can we be friends if you don’t have Sausage and Peppers at a ballgame? Doubtful. It’s my go-to, and I swear the ones at Citi Field are the best I ever had. The bun is superior, it’s bigger than in some ballparks, and it has just the right amount of peppers and onions. 10/10. There are numerous locations throughout the park. Get one.
