Unless you’re a vegetarian, I know you love fried chicken. It’s just so delicious. There are few restaurants I would refuse, to be honest. But of course there is a miss every once in a while. Soggy skin, no flavor, undercooked, whichever. I promise you that I have had enough fried chicken right here in New York City, that I can recommend you a few places you are guaranteed to love.
The Ribbon
The Ribbon is located on W 72nd Street right off Central Park. Bruce and Eric Bromberg, who are behind the Blue Ribbon restaurants, also are founders of this spot. It’s got an old Irish bar vibe, with lots of fun people, and pretty darn good food. Their fried chicken is exceptional. Cooked perfectly with tons of flavor in the crust, which is super crispy. 10 out of 10.

Sweet Chick
Sweet Chick has several locations in the city. It’s been around, and it is well known for its fried chicken and waffles. It’s super delicious. But every once in a while I stop by and just have the classic bone in Fried Chicken meal. Very crispy skin, lots of flavor, great meal.

Charles Pan-Fried Chicken
Charles Pan-Fried Chicken has three locations in Manhattan. I visited the location on 72nd Street, which is more of a takeout place. It smells so good in there. My to go order was three pieces (breast, thigh and drumstick), and I couldn’t even wait to get home to eat it, the smell had me wanting it. Very, very good. Also with very crispy skin and lots of flavor!

Bobwhite Counter
Bobwhite Counter started on the Lower Eastside, and has made quite a name for themselves with their juicy, delicous chicken. At this point they have several locations in the city. I visited the 14th Street location. The chicken here is boneless, more like strips. Just unbelievably good. Get the Buffalo sauce on the side. It’s addictive.

Coqodaq
By now you should have heard about Coqodaq. It has a stellar reputation, and their fried chicken comes highly recommended. This is a Korean restaurant located on 22nd Street in the Flatiron District.Their bucket of chicken comes with all kinds of goodies on the side, it is a meal and a half. The chicken itself is deep fried with a thick crispy crust, and you can choose sauce to cover the chicken, or maybe just half of them (like I did). It’s lots of food, and really good stuff at that.
