DOTW: Whiskey Smash

Aaaaaand it’s still cold outside. No relief in sight. Looks like here in New York City people are staying home as much as they can. I don’t blame them. I try to do the same, but then I’m always a busy bee, buzzing around finding new nectars for my soul. But when I do stay home, and curl up on my sofa, marathon watching the Vikings, I do make myself a cocktail. I’m always searching for something new, and sometimes something old can be new to me, just because I never tried it. So I tried the Whiskey Smash, which is not necessarily the newest drink on the block. But it has staying power, because it really is delicious and easy to make. The lemon seems perfect for the weather, because hey, we need our Vitamin C…..

What you’ll need:

  • 2 oz of Redemption Bourbon
  • 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 0.75 oz simple syrup
  • mint leaves
  • lemon peel for garnish

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add Bourbon, lemon juice, simple syrup and mint leaves (at least 2). Shake well. Add ice to a cocktail glass and drain liquids from the shaker into the glass. Garnish with lemon peel.
