#DOTW: Hemingway Daiquiri

I’ve got my first taste of the New York City summer today. Was it hot? Nope. It was clothes drenching humid. That is something I will never get used to as a Notrthern German. What I can get used to, however, is a refreshment in the form of a cocktail. The Hemingway Daiquiri is traditionally made with regular grapefruits and Maraschino liquor, but I mixed it up a little, and used pink grapefruits and a splash of grenadine. It’s delicious!!!

What you’ll need:

  • 2 oz Bacardi (or quality white rum of your choice)
  • 2 oz fresh pink grapefruit juice
  • 1/2 oz fresh squeezed lime
  • 1/2 oz Grenadine

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice, shake well. Strain into a martini glass, garnish with a lime slice.

Cheers!
