#DOTW: Mid-Winter Margarita

Margaritas are my thing, that’s for sure. It’s hands down my favorite cocktail. But let’s face it, unless you’re at a Mexican spot, they’re not that popular in the colder months. It makes sense, the flavors are refreshing and thirst quenching, so it’s traditionally a summer drink. But hey, leave it to me to find a Margarita that’s apparently geared towards the winter months! And it’s a good one….

What you’ll need:

  • 2 oz Don Julio Blanco Tequila (or Blanco tequila of your choice)
  • 1 oz Triple Sec
  • 2 oz fresh grapefruit juice
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • salt and chili powder

Combine equal part of salt and chili powder. Rim a highball glass with lime juice and dip it in the chili-salt to decorate the rim. Combine tequila, triple sec, grapefruit and lime juices in a cocktail shaker with ice, shake well. Add ice to the glass, then pour the tequila mix on top. Garnish with sliced lime.

Cheers!
