It’s always a bit difficult to find great whiskey cocktails, simply because I don’t drink it all that often. But then I find one, I make it, I try it, and it always comes out delicious! It’s all in the ingredients. This following cocktail asked for an English Pale Ale, but I couldn’t find one, so I substituted it with an IPA at the recommendation of the sales person, and it worked just fine! It was yummy…..

What you’ll need:
- 2 oz Bullleit Bourbon (or quality Bourbon of your choice)
- 1/4 oz fresh lemon juice
- 3/4 oz Maple syrup
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- Old Speckled Hen beer (I substituted with IPA)
Combine Bourbon, lemon juice, Maple syrup and bitters in a cocktail shaker over ice, give a few good shakes. Pour into a highball glass filled with ice. Top off with beer.
