What I Ate At Time Out Market

When I hear Time Out Magazine, I immediately think of great ideas for food. I always look for their advice, not just for food, but in general. There’s always something interesting to read and find out about. But food and restaurants are obviously my go-to. So now, when I see Time Out Market, I am there, because the food there must be good, they do their research. Recently a new Time Out Market opened at Union Square, right here in the city, so I hopped on the subway and gave it a try. It’s warm, inviting, with friendly staff everywhere, and in the back there is even a table with board games for everyone. It’s a fun place to be.

I went with a pocket full of money, and ended up buying five different items. I tried some there, took a lot home, and had a little feast with my kids, and I guess I chose wisely, because everything was a hit!

Patty Palace

I mean, come on. It’s Chef Kwame Onwuachi. He literally owns the best restaurant in New York City. This former Top Chef contestant can’t go wrong, everything he touches turns to edible gold. I have been to a couple of his restaurants, and I tried his Chicken Patty at the Patty Palace at Citi Field, so I finally got to try his Beef Patty, and it is all that and then some. Delicious.

Fornino

Aaaaah, New York Citi Pizza…. there is nothing like it. Outside of Italy, it is probably the best in the world. Now don’t get me wrong, not all NYC pizza is good pizza, but when it’s good, it’s very good. I have never had Fornino’s pizza, but I definitely tried it! I went with the Al Roker pizza (because how could I not?). It was piping hot, made fresh on the premises. This pizza’s toppings were Sopressata Picante, Fontina, Caramelized Onions, Roast Peppers, Tomato, Mozzarella, and Rosemary. Very, very good.

Kam Rai Thai

Don’t we all love Thai food? I sure do. My favorite dish is Pad Thai, it’s so yummy. Kam Ram Thai has an outpost at Time Out Market, and I’m here or it. I ended up ordering Chicken Pad Thai, so fresh, so delicious! Two thumbs up.

Kebawala

Indian food is on the rise. All these rich flavors are not new, however, it seems that people are more and more drawn to it. I personally love it, my favorites being (of course) Butter Chicken and Biriyani. Kebawala at Time Out Market has freshly made Kebabs, Paneer and yes Biriyani. Needless to say, I ordered the Chicken Biriyani. Excellent, especially since it wasn’t prepared in a restaurant setting.

Anthony’s Paninoteca

Another specialty in New York City are definitely sandwiches. Especially Italian sandwiches. Anthony’s Paninoteca has a spot here! Great sandwiches, they’re flat, kind of like paninis (ergo the name). My favorite sandwich here is Della-Tella, which is a flat sandwich with Pistachio Mortadella, Creamy Straciatella Cheese, Pistachio Pesto & Chrushed Pistachios. Absolutely Heavenly!!
