From My Kitchen: Easter Ham with Molasses and Bourbon

Advertisements

Well. This is not exactly a good time for Easter this year. The coronavirus is ravaging the world, people are scrambling at the supermarkets to buy whatever they can in order to follow the CDC guidelines and stay home. I’ve recently made a big food shopping excursion, and I saw that there are plenty of Spiral Hams left. So, if you want to cook a traditional Easter Ham, consider this recipe! I make it every year, it is always a hit, and I’m a little bit sad that this year I won’t be able to. There’s just two of us in the house, and most of the ham would go to waste. But make no mistake, I’ll make up for it as soon as the air is clear!!

What you’ll need:

Place the brown sugar, molasses, mustard, Bourbon, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and black pepper in a mixing bowl and stir until the sugar is dissolved.

Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F.

Spread the glaze over the ham. Cover and bake for 3 hours. Baste occasionally if desired. Remove cover and bake for another hour at 350 degrees F. Baste every 15 minutes.

Reserve glaze to use as sauce or gravy. Serve with your usual Easter dishes!

Bon Appétit, Happy Easter and stay safe!
