Greek Meatballs (Keftedes)

Advertisements

I love everything Greek! Growing up in Germany, I ate Greek food on a regular basis, and the food was as authentic as could be. Greek chefs and restaurant owners (as well as other members of the Western European community) were only a hop and a skip away, and moving to another country to open a restaurant was considerably easy back then. Ergo: most of  the foreign restaurants were very authentic. Of course one of my best and longest friends is also from Greece, so yes, I love everything Greek! This turned out to be one of those dishes that I couldn’t stop eating once I finished it…..

What you’ll need:

In a large bowl combine all ingredients (except flour and oil for frying), and mix well. Cover with Saran Wrap and let it rest for a minimum of one hour in the refrigerator.

Roll the mixture into 1 1/2 inch to 2 inch balls and dredge them in the flour. Fry them until nicely browned on all sides. Serve with Tzatziki and Herb Butter Rice!

Bon Appétit!
